Recap & Highlights: UDCA Tenerife 1-4 Real Madrid Femenino; Liga F
Real Madrid won 1-4 against UDCA Tenerife in the 4th matchday of Liga F. Below are my thoughts and views on the match.
Misa on goal. Olga and Shei on fullbacks, together with the CB duo Lakrar-Rocío made up the defense. Teresa and Angeldahl as a pivot duo had Møller in front of them acting as a #10 behind Redondo who was leading the attack. Linda and Navarro were on the wings. Heavy rotation once again. This time Toril decided for the Møller-Redondo duo and Teresa started in midfield instead of Toletti once again. Another standard 4-2-3-1 formation.
The first half was dominated by Las Blancas. Most chances were carried through the right side, ending in crosses by Eva Navarro. Her efforts in crossing ultimately resulted in the first goal by Møller. Angeldahl’s performance was a notable one in this match. Aside from picking up a goal and an assist, she was in charge of distribution, from the back as much as upfront.
Even though from the beginning of the second half it seemed the match died down, it became even more dull with the first substitution in 68’. Linda and Navarro left the pitch, who were the white club’s main chance creators. In comparison with the first half, when the chances were mostly run through the right side, the second half was characterized by Linda’s left side of the pitch.
Carla Camacho came on for the last 15 minutes for Møller. The youngster had a good action in the last moments of the match. She initiated the counterattack, passing to Athenea who then went 1-on-1 with the goalkeeper but didn’t manage to convert it into a goal.
A fun moment to note from 86’: Olga’s substitution when she went to Misa to hand over her captain’s armband. Both players played their 150th game for Real Madrid. They are the first players in history to do so.
- 29’ GOAL (0-1) by Caroline Møller: Eva Navarro’s cross from the right side of the box found the Dane on the far post. She came at the right time to push it in.
- 31’ GOAL (0-2) by Linda Caicedo: after receiving a long ball from Angeldahl, Caicedo went onto a solo action, going through the defenders from the left side to shoot it from the center of the box.
- 36’ GOAL (1-2) by Rinsola Babajide: penalty given by Linda was converted into a goal by Babajide.
- 45’ GOAL (1-3) by Caroline Møller: Teresa took a freekick sending it to the far post. Lakrar was there to do a hip pass to Møller who was beside her and pushed it into the goal.
- 90+2’ GOAL (1-4) by Filippa Angeldahl: Toletti’s side pass to Angeldahl ended in a brilliant long-distance chip.
Important 3 points on a difficult pitch. With the first goal conceded in the league this season, Las Blancas are still the team with least conceded goals on the table.
