One Day: April 15, 2024

The Daily Merengue is a place where you can feel free to discuss all things football. Do not be alarmed by the overt RMCF bias. It’s in the name!

Shoutout to the mods who do a fantastic job, Valyrian Steel, Kung_Fu_Zizou (AKA KFZ), Juninho, NeRObutBlanco and yours truly, Felipejack

Today’s schedule

Predicted lineup

There is no surprise: Lunin, Carva, Rüdiger, Nacho, Mendy; Camavinga, Kroos, Valverde, Jude; Rodrygo, Vinicius.

Curiously, Tchouaméni will travel with the team, despite the suspension. Courtois and Alaba wanted to go, but they’ll stay at Madrid to continue their recover process (Would that make such a difference?)

Will Carlo repeat the Rodrygo in the left side along with Vini, will he return to their natural positions, or even come up with something new?

The yellow-card situation continues.

Referee announced

It is going to be Daniele Orsato.

Orsato is not one of Modric’s favorites. The player has made harsh criticism towards Orsato following Croatia elimination from 2022 WC, in which he said:

He is one of the worst I know. Not only for today’s game. He has refereed me many times and I never have a good memory of him. He’s a disaster

In a more positive side of things, Orsato was the one who refereed the 2nd leg vs City in 2022. Let’s remember he did not hesitate to correctly call the penalty, which Benzema coverted.
