Joselu on His Pivotal Goals vs Bayern and Real Madrid’s Champions League Final Prospects

In an interview with Marca on Real Madrid’s open media day, Joselu opened up about the emotional highs of scoring two crucial goals against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-finals and shared his thoughts on the imminent Champions League final.

Joselu’s brace against Bayern Munich stands as a defining moment of the season, a turning point that he recalls with palpable pride and joy.

“That match against Bayern changed the season,” Joselu said. “Never have so many people stopped me on the street to thank me. I feel like I have made a lot of people cry (with joy). I feel happy to be able to get those feelings out of people.”

The upcoming Champions League final looms large, and Joselu is acutely aware of the challenges that lie ahead.

“The locker room is very aware that the Champions League Final is going to be a very complicated match,” Joselu explained. “I’m in a team where there are bastards who are playing in their sixth Champions League final. I’m handling it well. As the days get closer, it’s more complicated, but this is part of the game. It’s going to be a screwed-up game. We have it well analyzed and I always say that the finals are 50-50.”

“I think we can learn a lot from Bayern Leverkusen’s final in the Europa League,” Joselu concluded. “The Germans were favorites and lost. If you relax, you’re wrong. At the beginning of the season, no one gave Dortmund a damn. But they have earned the right to enjoy this final.”
