A Quick Word from our Sponsor — Jose Mourinho

Feel like this is a week of peace and tranquility, so I’ll fall in line

Welcome to The Daily Merengue — a place where you can feel free to discuss all things football. Do not be alarmed by the overt RMCF bias. It’s in the name!

Shoutout to the Mods who do a fantastic job, Valyrian Steel, KungFuZizou, NeRObutBlanco, Felipejack, and King Juninho (the “Merciful”).

Something I meant to include yesterday

Kiyan did a player by player season breakdown via his twitter yesterday. It’s a good read. I meant to include it yesterday but felt like the DT was already too long.

Here are a few quotes I like:

Andriy Lunin: Real Madrid don’t make it to the Champions League final without him. The games against Leipzig and Manchester City away stand out. Had several ‘save of the season’ contenders. Distribution and presence on crosses looked good. Thank you.

Dani Carvajal: ‘Resurgent’ is under-selling it. He is the greatest right-back in Champions League history. This season was a glimpse of why you take him number one if you’re trying to win a UCL Final. Best goal-scoring season of his career; incredible defensively. Also a leader you’d follow into battle.

Whoever the number 9 was he was horrible. Ghosted.

The Future of Brazil = The Future of Madrid

If you’re looking for a Copa America team to root for, which you shouldn’t because it’s obvious and to be honest you should have been rooting them a longggggg time ago, Brazil is your team. This is the future of Real Madrid. Hopefully, they can have a great tourney.

Clear Future?

It seems clear from Real Madrid brass and Arda’s entourage that he will remain with Madrid for the 24/25 season rather than go on loan. IMO this kinda makes sense. Yes, Arda could use more playing time but we’ll be in several competitions and maybe there will be ample time in the CWC (which will be after the more crucial part of our season). Now, I still wouldn’t be entirely surprised if one of our forwards left (*cough* Brahim *cough*) but hopefully we can somehow keep everyone together and happy.

WATCH THIS MASTERPIECE

I always post this video creator cause they do a great job. Check this out.
