OFFICIAL: Mbappe announces PSG departure

French striker Kylian Mbappe has officially announced that he will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the 2023-24 season. Mbappe published a video on his social media to announce his decision.

While Mbappe did not confirm or announce his next destination, all reports from reputable media outlets indicate that he will be a Real Madrid player. However, both parts will not be expected to announce such agreement until after the 2024 Champions League Final, which will be played on June 1st, given that said announcement could be a distraction ahead of such a crucial game.

Mbappe is still 25 years old and has been a big target for Real Madrid in years past, so it definitely looks like president Florentino Perez will finally complete this signing. His current deal expires this June, so Mbappe will sign as a free agent.

This way, Real Madrid expect to upgrade the offensive line, which was a concern all season long even though the club actually achieved to conquer the 2023-24 La Liga title in comfortable fashion while also reaching the Champions League Final.
