Flo Is Still Supreme
Florentino has done an unbelievable job in his second period as Real Madrid president. We often disagree with many transfer decisions but he has put the club right at the pinnacle. I do not know if the Super League will ever come to life but I have no doubt that if it did, Real Madrid would be even bigger because of it. While Florentino has his flaws it is unlikely we will find anyone as good let alone better for the job.
The Missing R

Kylian Mbappé: 16

Jude Bellingham: 9️ Assists:

Rodrygo will always have to fight for it. That’s just his lot in life. I say this in light of the fact that these stats are on the back of largely disappointing performances by the team. You always want to congratulate the players who are posting good numbers but it hardly matters when we’ve been so poor this season.
Conclusion of the Davies Affair
There you have it. We’re stuck with Mendy and Fran for the foreseeable future. Juni Calafat seems to have stopped working after the signing of Jude Bellingham. It’s pathetic that the first team has one fullback and three liabilities masquerading as fullbacks. What’s worse is that the fullback issue is not new. It’s been going on for years.
⚪️ Real Madrid priority target for July remains Trent Alexander-Arnold, always been higher than Alphonso Davies in the shortlist since last year.
Real were also keen on Davies but never a done deal… meanwhile, he’s now close to signing new contract at Bayern — almost done. pic.twitter.com/c2fMnbrgH2

Prioritising the Right-Back where we actually have world class fullback over Left-Back where we’re living on a prayer seems rather irresponsible.
Jacobo Is Back
ó ( | ) was outstanding tonight against Betis Deportivo, delivering a second consecutive strong performance since his return. I’m happy to see him back in action and performing so well. Let’s hope he stays fit. pic.twitter.com/JbqiDR7M2k

Jacobo Ramon was in line to get a chance with the first team when his season was interrupted by repeated injuries. The youngster is now back with Castilla and we can only wish him good health. While Jacobo is highly rated in the youth ranks, it has been the unsung Raul Asencio who has got the opportunity to impress with the first team.
Squad Depth
Ideally the manager wants the entire squad to be available but even with all these players missing we have incredible depth in the squad. In fact if we don’t bury our heads in the sand and actually look to the academy, we have an embarrassment of riches. Hopefully the manager has seen the light and will insist on trusting his whole squad.
Camavinga is out injured. Tchouaméni is back playing well at DM. Jacobo Ramon is back if we need another CB. Modric and Vinicius are only serving suspensions and their positions have a lot of cover in any case.
