Rafa Obrador close to joining Deportivo La Coruña on loan

Real Madrid Castilla left-back Rafa Obrador is currently in talks to join Deportivo La Coruña, according to a report from Relevo and further confirmation from Guillermo Rai of The Athletic.

Obrador, who has been one of the best players for Castilla in the last couple of years, has now figured out it is time to move on — as he said goodbye to his teammates on Tuesday morning.

It will be a season-long loan where Obrador is bound to get a decent amount of playing time. According to Relevo, Las Palmas were the team best placed to sign the young full-back, but the player valued getting game time over playing first division football, which is why he has chosen the team from the Segunda.

It would be a good move for a very talented left-back who will surely go on to do good things for Deportivo La Coruña, and the experience Obrador will earn in a higher division than what he is currently used to will also prove to be incredibly helpful in future years.
